Referencing Riane Eisler, Marija Gimbutas, James Mellaart, and others, the essay covers the past million years, with a focus on 12,000 to 6,000 years ago. I argue that mainstream human culture across Eurasia lived in peaceful, class-and-gender egalitarian partnership societies, worshipping nature as a female deity, until around 6,500 years ago, when dominator culture began to gain control through armed invasions, leading to what we have today.

The first draft of Trip had a ~8,000-word chapter titled "The Goddess" that was deleted and then absorbed in ~2000-word form into the final draft of the chapter "Why Are Psychedelics Illegal?"

According to public records, your father was what the law calls a 'recidivist.'
In other words, he and his company, Surgilight, had been warned once before about stock market manipulation but nonetheless persisted until federal law enforcement had no choice but to arrest him and charge him.
He wasn't getting the message, it seems.
The federal prison sentence he ultimately served for being part of the 'dominator culture' must have worked because he hasn't been re-arrested.
Evidently, one dominator got dominated by a bigger dominator and now doesn't dominate any more. It got its little dominating paws burned.

Nice ‘gotcha’ moment. I don’t think it very appropriate or relevant really to bring up his families actions - if you’ve read his work you should know there’s plenty of philosophical conflict between him and his parents. There’s no need to cast stones just because you have them.

Evidently and philosophically, it wasn't much more than the shoplifting Tao himself liked to do -- or liked to instruct his emotionally abused partner at the time to do, according to that poor person. Philosophically, father and son seem to agree on that one.
Anything about a writer is relevant. Surely Tao Lin himself would agree with that philosophy, because all he can manage to write about is himself or his clearly brain-damaged conspiracy theories about life-saving vaccines and 9-11, which are essentially the mental transfusions of the insane Alex Jones.
Are those relevant, Oh God of Relevancy? I think they are.
And the vaccine misinformation is life-threatening -- a constructively terrorist act -- toward his severely idiotic followers. It's breathtakingly cruel and deadly stupid. I'm not saying you're one of those idiots, but . . . well, res ipsa loquitur.
